How we build

Our AI policy

A short, plain-language answer to the AI questions players and press ask most.

Do you use AI to help build your games?

Yes. We use large language model (LLM) coding assistants as development tools—the same way we'd use an IDE, a linter, or a debugger. They help us write, review, and ship code faster. A person still designs, reviews, and approves everything that ends up in Tap Hack.

Is any of the art or music in your games AI-generated?

No, and it will not be. Every piece of visual art and music in Tap Hack—and in every game Gumshark makes—is created by people. We do not use AI-generated art or AI-generated music in our games.

Why draw the line there?

Code is a tool we use to build the game. Art and music are the game—the parts players actually see, hear, and connect with. We use AI where it speeds up plumbing and leave the creative work to the people we hire to do it.
